Week 5th July and DK9 Security carried out their last week of work for Barham.However they had nothing to report, it was a very quiet week for them.It has been agreed by Barham Parish Council not to renew the DK9 contract, this is due tothe lack of funds which the Parish Council currently has budgeted for the service.
DK9 Security week of 28th June 2021 reported the following;
DK9 Security week of 21st June 2021;Investigations into the recent fly tipping, has shown where it has come from!Male trying to cause damage to a parked car outside the Sorrell Horse public house.Suspicious 4 x 4 parked on Norwich Road.2 males wearing full face coverings acting suspiciously, reported to the police,who attended with dog security unit.
Week 14th June 2021 DK9 Security recorded the following;Teenagers on the picnic site shouting verbal abuse.Highly dangerous pot hole at the site entrance on Sandy Lane, reported again to Highways.Traffic light signs on Norwich Road, knocked over by a group of people, they then put a traffic cone in the middle of the road.
Barham Parish Council has instructed Suffolk County Council to keep the street lights in Barham switched on during the night.
Barham Parish Council were disappointed to hear about the closure of the Barham and Claydon surgery.
Barham Parish Council will be holding an Extraordinary Meeting on Wednesday 9th June 2021, 7pm in Barham Church Hall to;

At the recent Barham Parish Council meeting the major issue of speeding vehicles throughout the whole of Barham was again discussed.

Barham Parish Council are now the proud owners of a 2nd VAS sign, located by De Saumarez Drive, on Norwich Road.
Fly Tipping is not acceptable and is a criminal offence resulting in prosecution.

Barham Parish Council would like to acknowledge the generous donation of £2005.00 which our Suffolk County Councillor has given towards the new vehicle activated speed sign.
The site has undergone a substantial amount of work to make it a viable fishery and to save the river bank from eroding away after decades of minimal maintenance, turning the venue into a special place for all wildlife.

Barham Parish Council marks Remembrance Day 2020
The Suffolk County Council Liberal Democrat, Green and Independent Group is to introduce to Council a motion proposing a default 20mph speed limit for roads in residential areas and communities across Suffolk’s towns and villages, with 30mph limits to be retained only in exceptional circumstances.
